The Esmé Quartet was the first all-female group to win the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition in 2018. This 2024-25 season, we have another exciting year of touring, with performances in Austria, Italy, Spain, the USA, Canada, and Korea. This will also be the first year in which we will regularly coach chamber music to the college and pre-college students at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, to share our love and passion for chamber music. While taking in the beautiful nature of California, we are excited about rehearsing and taking new works in our repertoire on the road, from Beethoven’s Opus 131, Schumann’s A major Quartet, Dutilleux ‘Ainsi la nuit’, all the way to music by Asian women composers Kui Dong and Juri Seo. We look forward to meeting you at our concerts!
