Yeeun Heo

A highly acclaimed cellist, Yeeun Heo was born in Seoul in 1992. Early in her career, she received recognition through prestigious national awards in Korea, including the Kukmin Ilbo, Strad, and ECCS competitions. With a deep passion for chamber music, she embarked on her performance career in illustrious venues in Korea such as the Kumho Art Hall and Seoul Arts Center. Subsequently, she expanded her horizons by participating in esteemed international chamber music festivals like the Great Mountain International Music Festival and McGill International String Quartet Academy, solidifying her reputation as a distinguished chamber musician. She is a recipient of scholarships from the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation and Art Sylvia Foundation.

In 2016, Yeeun Heo became a founding member of the Esmé Quartet, which soon after began performing worldwide in the great concert halls.


Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of cellists and chamber musicians, Ms. Heo has given masterclasses at institutions such as the University of Western Australia, Sydney Conservatorium, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

After graduating with honors from Sunhwa Arts High School and Seoul National University, Yeeun Heo pursued advanced studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne under the tutelage of professors Nicolas Altstaedt and Johannes Moser, earning her Master's degree with distinction. Additionally, she completed a master's program in chamber music under the guidance of Professor Oliver Wille at the Musickhochschule Hannover. Yeeun Heo is currently completing her Konzertexamen program under the mentorship of Professor Leonid Gorokhov at the Hochschule Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover, Germany.
